Project overview

The new Samsung R&D facility consists of an 8.5 acre site, two 6-story office buildings totaling 385,000 square feet and two five level parking garages housing approximately 1,200 employees. The core and shell is LEED Platinum and the interiors achieved LEED Gold standards for sustainability.

REG’s Technology Group installed a BerkTek / Leviton cabling system to meet all their technology needs as Designed by Teecom. In addition, REG was also contracted on a Design/Build basis for their Neutral Host Distributive Antenna System to enhance cellular coverage and meet the NFPA requirements for the Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System using SOLiD Technologies for the active DAS components. Project highlights include: MDF, 11 IDF’s, Server room and a Radio room. REG installed a million feet of category 6 cable and another 100,000 feet of category 6a cable. Both OS2 singlemode and OM4 multimode fiber was installed in each building and across the campus for redundancy.
