PG&E Data Center

Project overview

This project was to upgrade the electrical infrastructure with replacement of existing UPS systems and critical electrical distribution, additional emergency generator and increase cooling systems capacity. The project was challenged to minimize shutdown and equipment replacement time frames in order to limit redundant systems impact of handling the full load requirements of the data center. To accomplish this challenge was to build-out new UPS and distribution equipment on a skid mounted steel framework including interconnecting controls, power cabling and testing.

Redwood Electric Group utilized BIM/3D modeling for accurate placement of cable trays, conduit raceway systems and developing the UPS skid design. Up to thirty MOPs and SOPs were developed in conjunction with PG&E operating personnel and Alfa Tech engineers.
