Project overview

The Kaiser Redwood City Hospital and Central Utility Plant project included the renovation of the entry to the existing hospital, construction of a new outpatient facility, a new Central Utility Plant, and upgrades to the utility infrastruture that will set the stage for future campus development.

The 280,000 square foot Hospital is seven stories of state-of-the-art private rooms, with extensive information network systems connected to a 42-inch screen that allows the patient to order movies, request new linens, order their meals when they like or watch informational videos related to their treatment and care.

The Hospital also has an expanded emergency department, new labor and delivery units with private rooms, and is the regional center for neuroscience, and three radiology suites for performing image-guided procedures.  The new Hospital and Central Utility Plant were also designed to meet state seismic safety standards.
