Cisco MTV-5

Project overview

The expansion of this existing Data Center consisted of two parts:  The rework of existing systems to meet Tier 3 requirements and the addition of 20,000 square feet. To accomplish this we added a secondary entrance facility and a new BDF (Building Distribution Frame). The entire project was modeled in BIM facilitating the extensive coordination and planning required to perform an addition of this magnitude while keeping an active production data center operational.

Our scope of work included a two tiered under floor basket tray, over three hundred cabinets and more than fifty racks with an overhead two tiered fiber runner system. For cabling we installed redundant Category 6a copper, OM4 and single mode fiber within the expansion area and new redundant links to all existing spaces. New security cabling was also installed for IP cameras, card readers and biometric readers.
